of the most beautifully elegant pieces of Edwardian
Jewellery we have ever featured, the beauty of this fabulous
Locket lies in its simplicity of design and quality of materials.
Fitted
in Yellow Gold (possibly 15 or 18 Carat)
it features unusual an Rock Crystal casing,
set to the centre with a Split Pearl surrounded
by Diamonds in a Star design.
The Gold band which
runs around the circumference of the Rock Crystal is hinged
to enable the piece to open like a Locket in order to store
a lock of hair or photograph.
Other than a chip to
the reverse of the Crystal casing which can be seen in the
third photograph the piece is in perfect condition. The chip
cannot be seen from the front so does not detract from the
piece which has survived 100 years with very little wear.
It measures just 1.5"
from the top of the bale.
