Handmade in central England over 100 years ago this fabulous brooch is a must have for any collector or antique jewellery enthusiast.

We were lucky enough to purchase this wonderful item from an ancestor of the gentleman who created the piece together with an entire collection of Turquoise encrusted items; each crafted by the same person and handed down through the family.

The quality is simply superb, featuring a Turquoise Encrusted Dome, set with a central Star set with sumptuous Rose Cut Diamonds, all set in high carat Gold (probably 15 or 18 Carat.)

The demand for jewellery representing Stars grew in the 18th Century with an increased interest in the science of astronomy and it's popularity flourished in the 19th Century.

This late 19th Century piece is superb quality and in perfect condition. Each of the Turquoise has retained it's glorious Blue colour and even the original safety chain remains. At 1" in diameter it is a fabulous piece, it's substantial weight a great indicator of superior quality.
