A truly magnificent piece, the Black Opal in this remarkable pendant is of breathtaking quality.

The colours are incredible, from fiery reds and oranges to calm greens and flashes of electric blue. It's really quite mesmirising. It is important to note that this is NOT a doublet, triplet or reconstitute but a NATURAL Opal. The reverse shows evidence of the boulder from which it was carved and polished.

It has been set in a simple unmarked Gold mount - it's so beautiful it really doesn't require fancy settings - and is in excellent condition. It has obviously been stored safely and has a gorgeous sheen which can dry out if exposed to heat or dry atmospheres. Any new owner would be well advised to allow it to soak in water from time to time to retain its natural vibrancy. It is an unfortunate fallacy that Opals should be kept away from water as, similarly to us humans it constitutes most of their makeup.
