Pearls
can be very difficult to value; without the correct, specialist
equipment it can be impossible to tell cultured from natural
or the depth of the layers. For this reason it is always a
good idea to look at the clasp as this will generally be a
good indication of the quality of the pearls. No one would
waste a base metal clasp on a quality string of natural pearls
and (likewise) it would be senseless to use a gold clasp on
worthless faux pearls.
This
particular necklace boasts a high quality 18 Carat
Gold bi-colour “Bow” design clasp, which
has been encrusted with Diamonds. The Pearls
themselves have a beautiful lustre which
the photographs really can't do justice. They are all 6mm
in diameter and are very well matched – further indicating
the high quality of this necklace.
In
excellent condition and very wearable it measures 18”
in length.
