Description
A
charming piece, elegant in both proportion and design.
We
have our suspicions that this may have begun life (circa
1860) as a pair of earrings, which was subsequently
changed to a pendant following the loss of its partner
many years ago. This happens all too frequently, and
for the majority of earrings it isn't worth the cost
involved to alter the remaining one. However this is
such a quality item it is no wonder that the unfortunate
owner wanted to continue wearing it.
It
is typically unmarked gold which has been crafted into
delicate cannetille work and frames a lovely Almandine
Garnet (a very popular gem at the time.)
It is in good condition, not perfect (hence the price)
yet still very wearable. It really is an exquisite little
item so we forgive it the odd flaw which exist as testament
to its long history.
It measures 2” in length. Chain not included in
price.
