Simply stunning. This is a superb quality piece, beautifully made and very collectable.

Crafted from 18 Carat Gold with ball edging the central glass panel encases a remarkable micro mosaic depicting a bird with a fish in his beak created from miniscule carvings of stone and glass. These have been laboriously set into a mother of pearl backing to create the picture with its burgundy frame and delicate flower edging. The compartment is bordered by raised scalloped gold work. The pictures don't illustrate quite how tiny the mosaic is; many of the tiles are less than 1mm in length - it is difficult to comprehend how anyone was able to create such a beautifully detailed picture from such miniscule materials.

The reverse contains a large picture compartment behind bevelled glass. It is in lovely condition and is a very heavy piece which measures approximately 5cm in length including the bale.
