Description
Exemplifying
the adaptability of one of the worlds most precious metals
the artistry and craftsmanship which has gone into the moulding,
carving, engraving and shaping of the Gold is breathtaking.
Typical
of jewellery produced between 1810
and 1840 the Cannetille Gold work
is simply stunning. Typically unmarked, this is nevertheless
a high carat piece and the rich golden yellow
colour of the gold perfectly complements the sumptuous purple
of the foil back Amethysts.
The
piece is accented with small White Pearls.
Unfortunately the condition is not perfect and the delicate
cannetille work has suffered some damage over the last 200
years. Obviously this is reflected in the price, however this
remains a wonderful historical item and a truly remarkable
piece of early 19th Century jewellery.
Price:
£175.00 (approx $285.00 USD)
