In short, because you get all of the quality and size for half the price. Second hand jewellery (and that includes items from retired or bankrupt jewellers which have never been worn or privately owned) retails for approximately half the price of new jewellery of comparable quality.

Once classed as second hand, condition is the key to stabilising the value of your jewels, and for this reason the three factors of paramount importance are:

Quality, Quality, Quality.

We always recommend buying second hand. Why pay twice the price for something new, in the same condition and of comparable design and quality? Our items are vetted to eliminate any of substandard quality or condition, and although some are estate pieces which have been sold to us by an original owner we are fortunate enough to be able to offer many pieces which have only ever seen the inside of a glass cabinet and are still around 50% cheaper than "brand new" pieces in the shops today. Our customers are happy to know that they no longer need to settle for a more diminuitive solitaire, when for the same amount and no drop in quality that can afford a greater carat weight from jewellers like us.

We like to think we bring the glamour and luxury of usually out of reach pieces within the affordability of all our clients, so no longer is the idea of multiple carats only available to the exceptionally wealthy.
