| 1.
How do I know if a ring will fit?All
of our rings have been measured for an approximate size which
is given in UK and US terms, and any rings over £150
can be sized free of charge upon purchase.
2. How long does ring sizing take?
Once
you have confirmed your size with us it should take a maximum
of 1week.
3. What is the difference between Antique and Vintage
Rings?
We have tried to limit the Antique section to items pre-1930.
4. I'm interested in an item but the pictures aren't
very good. Don't
hesitate to contact us if you need view better pictures. We
understand that our pictures cannot give a true impression
of our items and are happy to provide as many pictures as
you need. We may require a day or two for collection of an
item.
5. I'm looking for something in particular but you
don't seem to stock it...
Email us with your enquiries and we will do our best to locate
items for you.
6. How do I know the diamond weight if it isn't
given? Some
of our items have several smaller diamonds which are difficult
to weigh accurately while set, but we would be happy to provide
you with an approximation at your request. All approximations
(unless otherwise stated in the description) are based on
spread and are taken whilst in situ.
7. Are the diamonds certificated?
Occasionally we have diamonds in stock which are certificated
but if this is the case it will always state this in the description.
As most of our stock is Antique, in general the stones are
not certificated, but we try to provide you with an approximate
with regards to the clarity and colour of our diamonds. All
estimates are based on set Diamonds and therefore may be affected
slightly by settings. Estimates for Old Cut Diamonds are given
based on modern Brilliant Cut counterparts although this can
have a detrimental affect on gradings.
8. Can I have an appraisal? An
appraisal for insurance purposes can be written upon purchase
of an item free of charge. We would always suggest you think
carefully about insuring Antique Jewellery as it is almost
impossible to replace.
9. What is the difference between carat weight for
diamonds and for gold? In
terms of gold the carat weight refers to the amount of gold
present out of 24 "parts" available. Therefore 18
carat gold has 18 parts pure gold and 6 parts other metals.
In White Gold the other parts are mainly silver which gives
its colour. In Diamond terms, carats denotes the weight
in the same way that ounces and pounds apply to sugar. 0.2g
is equal to 1 carat
10. How do I order an item? To
place an order simply email us with your request quoting the
stock number which is present at the top of every description.
11. What if I don't like the item I buy?

as jewellery without actually handling it. For this reason
we will offer to refund your purchase providing we are informed
immediately upon your receipt of the item. Just contact us
to notify us of your intentions and ensure that the item is
in its original condition with it's original packaging. We
also suggest that you obtain a delivery receipt and the correct
postal insurance. Unfortunately Heirloom cannot be held responsible

the sole responsibility of the customer. Refunds are only
issued upon our receipt of the item, intact and unused (postage

you make us aware of any concerns you may have, however trivial
they may be. We cannot guarantee customer satisfaction if
we don't know when you need assistance.

velvet lined Heirloom Jewellery.com presentation boxes. Some
antique pieces may have their original boxes however this
will always be noted in the description of the item. Specialists

not disclose client information to third parties.
18. How can you guarantee the quality of my item?
Stock
listed by Heirloom Jewellery has undergone rigorous checks
to maintain quality assurance levels and is of only the highest
standard. Items are guaranteed for one year from purchase.
However it is important to note that due to their age many
of the items may have minor imperfections which have been
described as accurately as possible. It is also important
to note that many of these pieces have survived over one hundred
years and should be respectfully handled with empathy for
their age. Heirloom Jewellery cannot be held responsible
for any mistreatment or mishandling of our pieces
following purchase. For more information on caring for antique
jewellery, click here.
19. How can you guarantee the age of my item?
Most
stock is purchased from reputable dealers who are specialists
in their field. We also have over 40 years experience
of our own to ensure that our items are the age we specify.
Although certain styles cannot always be defined by a particular
year we always ensure that we work to date our pieces as accurately
as possible.
20. Is all stock featured on the website? Unfortunately
it would be virtually impossible to list every item in our
collection so we attempt to feature only the most unusual
or highest quality pieces. New additions are stored securely
until they can be added.
21. How long will it take to receive my item?
All items are stored in a secure location which can take a
couple of days to collect. We will always make the process
as brief as as possible but if you are interested in an item
it is certainly better for all if purchases are made with
time to spare. Nothing is more disappointing than finding
the perfect present and not allowing enough time for it to
reach you.
22. Can I have a Layaway Plan? Due
to popular demand we are now offering layaway plans on items
purchased via the website. We do appreciate that many of our
items are luxury items and are more than happy to offer our
customers the choice of staggered payments if this would make
your purchase easier to budget for. Payment terms can be flexible.
