Description
This
is a really fabulous find, as not only is it 18 Carat
White Gold (which continues to be the popular choice
for most buyers) but it is also hallmarked clearly for
London, 1913.
This was really the turning point for the popularity of White
Gold over yellow, with more people favouring the clean, bright
look it offered. Obviously the lady who first owned this piece
was very modern and forward thinking in her day!
The
diamonds are graduated Old European Cuts
with a total weight of approximately ¾ of a
carat (.75cts) with a colour of H-I
and clarity SI-P1. These are particularly
good gradings for a piece of this age, as diamonds were initially
cut with an emphasis on weight and their ability to sparkle
under candlelight. It was several years after this piece was
made before the phrase “4 C's” was coined and
adhered to.
The
gallery is beautifully carved whilst the
head itself looks very clean and elegant when worn. It is
a good quality piece, in fantastic condition and remains a
very wearable item.
It
is a UK size M, US approx 6.5
Price:
£1,245.00 (approx $1,870.00 USD)
