Description
Circa
1910 this beautiful ring boasts an Old Mine Cut Diamond
of approximately 1 Carat in weight and of
superb quality. Claw set in 18 Carat White Gold
the Diamond is of VVS clarity, a superb grading
in modern diamonds and extremely rare in Old Cuts.
We
would also estimate the colour to be in the region of
G grading, which is similarly uncommon. It is a truly
beautiful stone, exemplifying the romantic character and individuality
of Old Cut Diamonds.
Probably
dating from the Victorian era it almost certainly pre-dates
the Early 20th Century shank and setting, which has a charming
swag style gallery supporting the diamond. The slender and
elegant shoulders of the 18 Carat shank have been embellished
with three small diamonds to each side, a
feature which was typical of the era.
It remains in excellent condition and is a highly desirable
piece.
It
is a UK size P, US approx 8.
Price:
£1,995.00 (USD approx $3,000.00)
