I
really can't describe what a joy this piece is. Not only is
it exceptional quality, but despite its age
it is in completely mint condition.
Solid
Gold (typically unmarked but tests at least 9 Carat)
and heavy, it features perfectly matched Seed Pearls
and Turquoise stones set in intertwined horseshoes
to the central panel. To find gems of this age in such superb
condition is just remarkable and a testament to the previous
owners. This has obviously been cherished.
The
inside opens to reveal the original glass compartments encasing
two portraits.
It's
such a tactile piece, and beautiful in every way - as good
quality jewellery always should be.
