example of the increasing favourability of Old Cut Diamonds
in the modern market this stunning Solitaire ring boasts a
simply breathtaking Old European Cut Diamond
of approximately 3/4 Carats in weight.
The
Old Cut was replaced by the Brilliant Cut at the beginning
of the 20th Century, making this Diamond an antique, whilst
the shank and setting are modern yet sympathetic.
Unlike
modern lazer cut Diamonds, Old Cuts are completely
unique, and this is an excellent example of that
as it is very slightly Cushion shaped, although not enough
to be defined as a Mine Cut. We have graded it's clarity at
SI and colour as I-J, both
excellent grades for Diamonds of this age.
Set
in Platinum with an 18 Carat Yellow
Gold shank, it features a further three Diamonds
set into each shoulder. It is beautifully made and in excellent
condition.
It
is a UK size N1/2, US approx 7.25.
