Description
Very
elegant Victorian Brooch. Faint stamp marks
on the pin indicate that it is more than likely French
in origin, and has survived in good condition considering
it's age.
It
boasts chic scrollwork and engraving to the top which suspends
a dropper concave shell design setting and a claw set Turquoise
cabochon.
Around
the edge of the brooch is delicate rope edging,
and although there are a couple of small areas of discolouration
on the gold this does not detract from the piece but is reflected
in the price.
It's
possible the discolouration could be due to someone testing
the Gold in the past which is one of the reasons we guarantee
no lower than 9 carat but refrain from testing
with chemicals if possible. It does appear to be a higher
carat than 9 which would support the notion of it being French
in origin.
It measures 33mm in
length.
Price:
£225.00 (approx $390.00 USD)
