Splendid Antique Guilloche Enamel and Seed Pearl Locket.

Unlike other similar examples this is in superb condition with no chips or rubs all bar one tiny pin prick mark which occurred when the pendant was made. It is also a very unusual Pale Blue colour rather than the more common Royal Blue. Set in highly prized 15 Carat Gold it is a truly stunning piece which looks nothing short of breathtaking when worn. The Guilloche panel boasts a central Gold work Flower decoration, enhanced with delicate Pearls. To the reverse is a glass panel intended to hold the photograph of a loved one and a Natural Seed Pearl is suspended from the bottom.

It has retained it's original Gold chain which is also decorated with a Pearl and also features a safety chain for added security. These items are fairly heavy so this is a marvellous bonus.

Guilloche Enamel entails engraving a Gold or Silver base and then painting enamel over the top to create an almost 3D effect. Earlier pieces were hand engraved whilst pieces such as this feature engine turned decoration which allows for an even pattern.

It measures approximately 1.25" in diameter and the chain is 16" in length.
