Description
Typical
of Early 20th Century Deco era engagement
rings this piece has an 18 Carat Yellow Gold Shank
whilst the Diamonds are set into a decorated Platinum
setting.
This
type of decorated setting preceded the more modern Illusion
settings which became popular in the mid 20th Century. Those
later examples were much heavier than the Early 20th Century
versions and occasionally served only to overshadow rather
than enhance the Diamonds they surrounded. This setting focuses
on beautification of the Old Brilliant Cut Diamonds
which have an approximate total weight of .10 Carats.
The traditional
gallery setting is excellent quality and the shoulders are
lightly graded to add a touch of originality to what would
once have been a very popular ring design. Today it remains
a stylish, unusual and wearable piece.
It is in perfect
condition.
It is a UK size M, US approx 6.5
