Description
This
beautiful example of Mid Victorian jewellery
is not only in lovely condition but was also made by a well
respected Birmingham manufacturer who remains
in business to this day.
The
Fattorini company was originally established in 1827 by Antonio
Fattorini who established numerous retail shops and manufacturing
branches in Yorkshire and Birmingham, UK. The family run company
has continued to produce high quality pieces throughout the
19th and 20th Century, and this particular ring is a fine
example of their work.
It's
condition is immaculate, save for some small scuffs to the
Almandine Garnets (central garnet in particular.)
The hallmark is complete and clearly shows the Birmingham
anchor and the date letter for 1873. Alongside
is the T.F makers mark for Thomas Fattorini.
The reverse of the shank is delicately hand engraved
and shows absolutely NO sign of wear whatsoever. This is quite
remarkable when considering the engraving is so often worn
on pieces of this age, or disjointed due to unskilled sizing
jobs. The shoulders are also engraved and in mint unworn condition
as is the scrolled setting. The Pearls have
retained their luxurious colour and lustre and the Almandine
Garnets display the sought after pink hue so definitive of
their type.
The
piece is set in 9 Carat Gold and is a unique
and highly sought after item
It is a UK size Q, US approx 8
