Captivating Victorian Diamond & Pearl Gold Bar Brooch. Ref:aslc266

Description

A beautiful piece, indicative of the Aesthetic Movement which was heavily influenced by Princess Alexandra, Queen Victoria's daughter in law.

Crescent moons and stars popularise this era which began circa 1880, and this bar brooch is a shining example of the late Victorian's penchant for astronomy.

The Diamonds are Old European Cut and are good quality. Under scrutiny one does appear to be a slightly later replacement, although this is not immediately apparent. The Diamonds have a total weight of just under .20 Carats and are traditionally set into Silver to enhance their colour. They are perfectly complemented by the Creamy natural Pearls which are mounted into "cup" settings and adorn the centre and both ends of the Bar. The bar itself is unmarked Gold, more than likely 15 or 18 Carat.

A superb quality piece in very good condition.

It measures 36mm in length.

Price: £1,195.00 (approx $2,060.00 USD)
