Delicate Edwardian Enamelled Picture Locket. Ref:aslc227
Edwardian Diamond & Pearl Pendant

Description

Stunningly beautiful and incredibly delicate this elegant piece features elegantly carved gold (thought to be 15 Carat - certainly higher than 9) and decadent Blue enamelling.

With gentle tendrils enveloping the front to each edge, the enamel has apparently suffered some damage over the past 100 years and has been carefully restored by a professional with cold enamel. The original enamel would have been fired, however for restoration purposes firing the restored enamel would severely damage the Pearls, if not the Diamond therefore cold enamelling remains the only option.

It is incredibly rare to find any antique enamelled pieces which have suffered no losses or chips so this really doesn't detract from the locket itself, and the rest of it remains in perfect condition. The Split Pearls have retained their creamy lustre and the central Old Cut Diamond is also good quality.

The reverse contains a window panel behind which a picture could be stored. This also retains it's original red lining. The gold is unsurprisingly unmarked as so many antique pieces are, and the piece is complete with its original 16" rope twist chain with traditional barrel clasp.

The pendant itself measures approx 1.25" in from the top of the bale.
