Fabulous Victorian Brooch featuring a central Oval Garnet, surrounded by Seed Pearls and an outer edging of a further 14 Foil Back Round Cut Garnets.

Incredibly unusual and very rare, this Mid Victorian piece is set in unmarked High Carat Gold (typical of the era) which is elaborately and expertly engraved.

The reverse of the brooch is typically closed back, and in fabulous condition. Even the foil backing which so often flakes over time remains in perfect unused condition. If I'm being extremely picky, there is a very tiny chip to one of the outer garnets which is very difficult to spot and doesn't detract from the piece. A really lovely, high quality piece in super condition.

It measures just over 1" in width.
