Description
Romantic
Victorian Heart Shaped Cluster Ring set with
Diamonds and Rubies.
Dating
from around the 1860's, pieces such as this
epitomise the "Romantic Period" during Queen Victoria's
reign which focused on sentimentality, romance and symbolism.
The meaning this piece wished to convey is very clear, not
just in the Heart Shaped setting but also in the symbolic
meanings the gems possess; Rubies for "Love" or
passion and Diamonds for "Forever".
The
setting is Silver and closed back in Gold,
a traditional technique during the 19th Century. The shank
is also Gold, probably 18 Carat, and although the extensive
engraving to the outside remains in excellent condition the
piece does lack it's hallmark.
The
Pear Cut Ruby is a fabulous Pinky-Red, the
most sought after hue whilst the Diamonds are Old
Cut, with an approximate clarity of VS-SI
and colour J. They have a total
Diamond weight of approximately .46 Carats
(almost 1/2 Carat.)
Excellent
Condition.
It is a UK size O, US approx 7.5
Price:
£895.00 (approx $1,540.00 USD)
