Highly influential to the Art Nouveau movement, Murrle-Bennet & Co was founded in 1884 and specialised in high quality, low priced Silver and Gold Jewellery: some of which was sold through the famous London Jewellers, Liberty & Co.

Mounted in 15 Carat Gold and stamped MB to the reverse of one "leaf" this fabulous piece was aimed at higher priced market as it is mounted in gold rather than silver and is breathtaking in it's attention to detail.

It's exquisite design typifies the Murrle Bennet style with its bold modernistic form and use of naturalistic cabochon stones. Turquoise Matrix (turquoise embedded with it's parent rock) was a particularly popular stone during this period because its irregular, natural appearance suited the non-traditional styles.

It's high quality is evident in the amazing attention to detail. Even the reverse (which would be unseen) continues the Art Nouveau theme with a beautifully curved leaf shaped pin clasp.

Easily suspended from a chain or alternatively worn as a brooch it is in perfect condition. It measures approx 1.5" in length.
